Jaunting through Iowa always reminds me of a parody Duck's Breath Theater (home of Ask Dr. Science) put on when I was a lad; back in the '80's, there had been a show with Kris Kristofferson (IIRC) called "AmeriKa", about a Soviet-style infiltration/takeover of the U.S. in the late 1990's, so they spoofed it as "MinnesoDa", with hordes of Iowans moving Up North and gradually taking over our "beloved state", disassembling all our institutions and replacing them with weird Iowan things until we no longer recognized what Minnesota really was.
Frankly, the further south I go in this state, the harder it is for me to tell the difference, but I'm a Cities native... :P
