Gas prices
Today I filled up at $2.21. That's much cheaper than what I'm used to. Gas prices have fallen at least a third in just a few months. That's kind of crazy.
Update: Today the price was $2.12. Wonder just how low this is going to go?
I love it! May it continue to drop. I hope it trickles over to the price of groceries which they claim were raised due to transporation. Also, do you think the airlines will drop the fee for checking a bag?
Airline fees: it'll depend on pressure from the public. I really, really doubt that they'll drop any possible revenue stream unless the economy as a whole picks up. That might be true for grocers (and farmers) too. If the airlines are smart they'll lock in some long term fuel prices about now. Southwest did that in the late 90's and it gave them a very strong competitive advantage.
