A couple of months ago Carrie had August. Yesterday my friend Jennifer had a boy named Augustus. When the FP Gal and I were throwing names around she really wanted a Gus but it lost out to Felix. Last week while scouting the back roads of SE Minnesota I learned that my great-great grandfather and his son were both named Augustine Valentine DeFor. In theory we could grab that name (and hang the snooty 'the third' on him).
That is a lot of Gus.

I had forgotten about Augustine Valentine. It's a fine name, as is Felix Drake.
To be clear, I have no idea if we'd actually use Augustine Valentine or not.
Interesting! I often thought before August & Felix were born - "what if we and Sarah & Peder are thinking of the same name! That would be weird, wouldn't it? And there it *sort of* was (but not really). I like the nickname 'Gus' & we use it sometimes with August....but really, it's probably up to his friends to decide his nickname anyway...
Well. He looks like a Felix. And that's that. Ha!
Rachel's sis' youngest is August, but goes by Gus.
