New air traffic control software

Interesting read here. I know that we're seeing more and more delays and a ton of ripple effect. More travelers and less flexibility in the system means that missed or cancelled flights put passengers in a really tough spot. Let's hope that these changes help.

I don't want to sound like I am putting down the FAA evertime I post about them... We have been using this system for over a year now. It is better..in the sence that the planes are routed around the worst places to begin with. They are givin a time to leave that is usually a 15-20 minute delay. It is about a wash. You take the delay somewhere.
An air based system would be better than a ground based, but it is all technology. It doesn't always work all the time!
Trade secret. Delays this summer are going to be blamed on a lot of things other than staffing. Nation wide we are running 75% or less our staffing needs. We need 25 to run the facility well, 22 to not need overtime everyday. We are at 20 people with 4 who could walk at any moment.
Stepping off my box...
